Named after the shepherdess in Virgil's pastoral Eclogues. The Greek word amarysso means "to sparkle." In Victorian times, an "amaryllis" was a strong, confident, and beautiful woman.
Hopefully sooner than later...it'd be pretty bad if we ignored it too long and it was too late to do anything about it. But even if it's not going to go away, we'll just have to find a way to manage it.
