Named after the shepherdess in Virgil's pastoral Eclogues. The Greek word amarysso means "to sparkle." In Victorian times, an "amaryllis" was a strong, confident, and beautiful woman.
Okay. [just...okay. she does look a little perturbed but only because she very much is not okay with the fact that this happened while they were all trapped.] We can go to the refectory? Is it open?
[she shakes her head. not out of ingratitude, but more because she is capable of walking and doesn't want to be an inconvenience.]
I'm alright. I think walking might be good for both of us, short as it may be. [and so she will start, waiting for karlach to follow along before heading for the refectory.]
That kid...[karma is such a handful.] He was with us last night. The three of us, Karma, Alfyn, Nona, Iwatooshi and Gojo. We couldn't move very far away from the pyre, and we couldn't see anything past the fog.
[she says this but she is already doing her best with him so what the hell does she know. this child will give them both gray hair as ori makes us die for another x-weeks.]
It was thicker than it's ever been. We couldn't wave it away at all, and even when we threw rocks through it we couldn't follow after them. It's like all of it rolled in just to make sure we couldn't reach other people.
anyway she helps aerith in and i'm just going to say she brings a blanket from the mortuary to try and dry aerith off, and also gets her water. fussy.]
Bet that's exactly what it did. They couldn't lock you in, so they fogged you out. [...] I don't get the reasoning. Why not just knock us out immediately if they were going to do all this?
[takes blanket. she will also take the water and drink from it to try and alleviate the smoke in her lungs, blanket settling around her to ward off the dampness from the swamp while she thinks.]
It could have been just to scare us. [she doesn't seem to think it's just that though.] Or the fog...changed some things about the town and made it easier for whatever happened last night to occur at all.

We were in the swamp with Camille, but all of the trees were on fire. We couldn't find a way to put them out easily...someone was burned there.

[you are not going to be swamp smokey on her watch!!!
this is a nice distraction from how very, very upset she is, so.]

[we can both use distractions!]

[a beat.]
You need a carry? I can do that easy.

Where did you end up last night?

but she gets it, so she walks, side by side.]
Cabin. Astarion wanted to sleep somewhere that didn't smell like blood.

Considering you've been sleeping in coffins all week, I guess that makes sense. All three of you were together then?
no subject
Yeah. Me, Gale, Astarion - Todomatsu, too. He didn't want Karma to bully him. The cabin was crowded, though.

That bad even outside, huh. [...] We could see the fog, too, from inside. It was bad.
