[ on this fine monday, rondo is out at the island! it feels really nice to see the world at the very beginning of a sunset compared to the dreariness of the village, and currently, he's standing at the sandy edge of the island, boots set aside and pants legs rolled up to the ankles. ]

[this is exactly the kind of thing she wanted, so she's out here too - her hand is all bandaged and she's a little less cheery than normal, but she's here! she's out here, and she's going to come join him in the waves, though she's very careful to not get her hand wet. daan would kill her.

[ rondo turns his head to look at her and smiles, immediately - his gaze flicks to her hand, and he looks glad to see it at least bandaged, before he turns his gaze back out to the ocean. ]
[ rondo gives karlach a big smile, taking in a big, deep inhale of the salty air. it really is something special. ]
I've always lived inland, and Flamesgrace is frigid cold - the snow's up to your knees, sometimes, in the winter. But this... this reminds me of home, a little. I feel like I could stretch out and take a nap in the sand and sleep like a baby.
[ he reaches up and touches his heart, absently. feeling that empty space. ]
I'd only been back to Flamesgrace once since I had it, but it made it a lot easier to be there. [ and the space where the flame used to be feels so cold. ] It was really nice, though, when I had it.
[it's so very easy to just lean into him, press her shoulder to his. she likes touching, she likes being grounded. if she had her way she'd just be like this all the time.]

Every night the taverns are full of drunken neighbors singing their hearts out to each other. You meet a Baldurian in the wild and it's like meeting an old friend. We'd all stand together against any threat that came out of the blue.
[ oh... rondo happily leans into it and listens, trying to picture it. a rambunctious town full of life by the sea... the kind of place that just bursts with humanity, the kind of places full of love. it makes his heart warm to imagine it. ]
It sounds amazing.
[ not unlike flamesgrace, in its own way. a town with more quiet dignity, maybe, but - the idea of all the people coming together against a threat, that feels like home. ] You must've been so, so happy to get back.
... Yeah, it was - I don't know that I've ever been happier. Like reconnecting with something in me. There was a hole, and now it's filled, at least a little.
